OJJDP will host "Recognizing and Combating Implicit Bias in the Juvenile Justice System: Educating Professionals Working With Youth" as part of OJJDP's Preventing Youth Hate Crimes & Identity-Based Bullying Initiative webinar series.

During the webinar, intended for youth justice professionals, presenters will:

  • Help participants understand best practices to combat implicit and internal bias
  • Help participants understand how bias can influence decision-making for youth in the juvenile justice system
  • Explain how professionals can help youth who are in the juvenile justice system rectify, reduce, and mitigate their own internal bias when released from the juvenile justice system
