The solution to the problem of eavesdropping is to secure the communication through cryptography in a sophisticated technique that effectively secures the conversation. The equipment must be easy to operate and should enhance rather than disrupt communications. In actuality, there are very few companies who provide commercially available sophisticated encryption systems that are guaranteed to protect communications in "real time." However, mass production, driven by market demand has produced a family of scanners for cellular communications, such as the Telsec 02, which are inexpensive and extremely effective.
