Abstract
A primary function of the Saskatchewan Police Commission is to promote the preservation of peace and the prevention of crime, the efficiency of police services, and to improve police relationships with the communities in the province. Initiatives and efforts to prevent crime in the province remain a high priority. During 1991, the Commission received 40 complaints against municipal police officers and 7 against the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The Commission serves a coordinating role between the police departments and the Canadian Police College in the allocation of spaces for courses and the attendance of the various officers. Training courses are offered for all levels of personnel at the Saskatchewan Police College.
