This directory compiles information about the appellate and general-jurisdiction courts in the Federal court system, all 50 States, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
Abstract
The court listings are arranged by level, beginning with the court of final appeal. Each entry includes the official name of the court, the clerks of the court, and the court's judges. The clerk sections consists of the name, title, address, and telephone and fax numbers of the clerks of the court. The judges section lists the name, title, city where each judge has an office, and the telephone numbers. Each State section begins with a court structure chart, indicating the interrelationships and routes of appeal of a State's courts, as well as subject matter jurisdiction. The section on Federal Administrators lists the director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and of the Federal Judicial Center as well as the circuit executives of the U.S. Courts of Appeal. Officials who have administrative authority over each State court system are included in a separate section. The directory also lists Federal and State court public access services and includes both a geographic jurisdiction and a personal names index.
