These two volumes present lists and descriptions of national organizations related to criminal justice, lists of the documents related to criminal justice contained in the library of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a list of buildings entered for a national exhibition, and 14 articles related to criminal justice architecture.
Abstract
The list of organizations includes organizations that can provide general information in areas related to criminal justice and organizations related to courts, corrections, juvenile justice, and law enforcement. The bibliographies from the AIA library list books and periodical articles related to the same four areas. The list of buildings includes all projects entered in the Architecture for Justice Exhibition of the American Correctional Association and the American Institute of Architects between 1974 and 1985. The papers focus on courthouse design, low-cost methods for increasing jail capacity, management and design principles to reduce prison violence, facility planning, and architects' liability.
