Abstract
An emphasis throughout the book is on telling trusted adults the complete truth about a child's experience or observation of anything harmful any person does to another. The explanation of criminal case processing is in simple language and focuses on the roles of various criminal justice personnel, including the police officer, prosecutor, defense attorney, judge, bailiff, and court reporter. The nature and role of the jury are also described. The procedures described include the preliminary hearing and the trial. The meaning of being a witness and testifying is explained as are the concepts of 'guilty' and 'not guilty.' Full-page drawings suitable for coloring illustrate each narrative description.
