This is the 1991-92 annual report of the Law Reform Commission of Saskatchewan, which is charged with reviewing provincial law and assessing criticisms of a significant nature from the general public concerning legislation and rules of the common law.
Abstract
A summary of the Commission's programs and activities conducted in 1991-92 notes that they are largely a continuation of projects started before this fiscal year. The Commission's activities focused on family law, personal property security law, consumer credit law, debtor-creditor law and enforcement of money judgments, medical-legal legislation, administrative law, English statutes, the Sale of Goods Act, products liability, and real property law. Other research and reform efforts focused on the Land Titles Act, new home warranties, property guardianship, the costs of defendants on acquittal, the Marriage Act, living wills, structured judgments, the Trustee Act, and the Distress Act. Also included in this report are the final report to the Minister of Justice on proposals for an Advance Health Care Directives Act, plans for 1992-93, financial information, and information on Commission personnel. Publications, informal reports, and other law reform organizations are listed.
