This 1989 annual report on public safety and justice in the District of Columbia presents information on the organization and activities of major agencies and departments that perform public safety and criminal justice functions under the jurisdiction of the Government of the District of Columbia.
Abstract
The agencies and departments whose 1989 work is discussed are the Metropolitan Police Department, the Board of Parole, the Department of Corrections, the Public Defender Service, the Pretrial Services Agency, the Civilian Complaint Review Board, the Office of Criminal Justice Plans and Analysis, the Fire Department, the Office of Emergency Preparedness, and the Law Revision Commission. The total amount of the allocated budget for each of these departments and agencies is provided for fiscal year 1989.
