New Bulletin Highlights Role of Technology in Serving Crime Victims

 

 

A new bulletin from the Justice Department?s Office for Victims of Crime describes how the City of Denver has used technology to improve services to crime victims.? The bulletin, Using Technology to Enable Collaboration, describes the technology component of Denver?s Victim Services 2000 project, a effort to mold different victims services into a comprehensive, coordinated network that can better reach under-served crime victims.? Victim Services 2000 also enhances training available to victim service providers, law enforcement officers and members of the faith community.

 

The bulletin highlights Denver?s Victim Services 2000 Technology Initiative, which features:

 

?                      An online resource directory for victim service providers;

?                      A case management system that helps make sure that victims receive needed services quickly;

?                      An online training center that will allow those who work with victims to receive the most up-to-date training in a variety of disciplines.

 

The bulletin also describes how the new technology was designed, implemented and administered.
