DEPUTY AND ASSOCIATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL TO ANNOUNCE MILLIONS
IN JUSTICE DEPARTMENT GRANTS TO NEW MEXICO INDIAN COUNTRY

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. ? As they begin a series of meetings with tribal leaders and law enforcement experts, Deputy Attorney General David W. Ogden and Associate Attorney General Tom Perrelli will hold a press conference on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, AT 1:30 PM MST/3:30 PM EST to announce several Justice Department grant awards to tribal communities in New Mexico and Navajo Nation.

The Department officials are in Albuquerque for the second of two working sessions with tribal leadership and law enforcement experts, including tribal judges, prosecutors and Chiefs of Police. These sessions will lead up to the Attorney General?s Tribal Nations Listening Conference, part of an ongoing Justice Department initiative to increase engagement, coordination and action on tribal justice in Indian Country.
