DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICIALS TO HOLD BRIEFINGS ON FINDINGS
OF STALKING VICTIMIZATION IN THE UNITED STATES REPORT
WASHINGTON – Department of Justice representatives from the Office of Justice Programs' Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) will participate in a discussion about the BJS special report, Stalking Victimization in the United States, on Tuesday, January 13, at 11:00 AM.
Following this discussion, at 11:30, AM Cindy Dyer, Director of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) will participate in a briefing about the findings and the impact of stalking on women who are victimized.
The BJS report presents the prevalence of stalking victimization in the United States. Findings for this report are drawn from the Supplemental Victimization Survey (SVS) to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). The SVS was specifically developed to provide national-level data on the crime of stalking.
