NIJ's Course Helps Forensic Experts Testify - The National Institute of Justice's new, self-paced online course "Law 101: Legal Guide for the Forensic Expert," provides a comprehensive guide for forensic experts in preparing for and testifying in court.

BJA, NCJA Hosts John Schools and Demand Reduction Webinar, Free - The Bureau of Justice Assistance and the National Criminal Justice Association is hosting a webinar on John Schools and Demand Reduction, August 24, 3 to 4 p.m. (EST). This webinar explores the evidence base, prevalence and successes of John School programs and other demand reduction techniques. This is the second in a series on human trafficking and law enforcement efforts in reducing victimization.

Nominations for the Crime Victims' Service Awards - The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) is accepting nominations for the Attorney General's Crime Victims' Service Awards until Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Each year, OVC recognizes individuals and organizations demonstrating outstanding service in supporting victims and victim services. The award ceremony will be held April 20, 2012.
