Remarks of Laurie Robinson, Assistant Attorney General
Office of Justice Programs
Combined Federal Campaign
Awards Luncheon
Thursday, July 01, 2010
Washington, DC
Thank you, Tracy [Lee-Williams]. It's great to have a chance to formally thank all the OJP CFC team. You all did an incredible job this year, and I want you to know how much Beth and I appreciate your commitment and your hard work.
OJP's goal last year was to raise $92,046. But, as you know - we exceeded that, and then some! We raised $150,740. That's just remarkable! And it simply wouldn't have been possible without your skills of gentle persuasion - which, by the way, is a real gift.
I also want you all to know that I know that your regular work didn't stop when you were working on CFC. Unless I'm mistaken, there are no elves holding down the fort while you're organizing cook-offs, bake sales, and Family Feuds. So please know how very grateful I am to you for taking on these extra duties.
I specifically want to single out Tracy and LeToya [Johnson] for all they did. CFC does not run itself. It requires constant attention and coordination, and the OJP leadership owes them a huge debt for their hard work.
Finally, I want to thank our 16 Eagle donors and our 11 Double Eagle donors. As I'm sure all of you know, Eagle awards go to employees who donate one percent of their salaries, and Double Eagle awards go to those who donate two percent. Both are impressive, and I just want to say how much I appreciate the incredible generosity of these 27 employees.
This campaign has been a huge success. Why? Because of all of you in this room. So on behalf of myself and the OJP management - and the Department - thank you. Thank you so very much.
