PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE STATUTES SERVING AS CONSTRAINTS ON REGIONALIZATION OF CORRECTIONS PROGRAMS IN OMAHA AND DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEBRASKA.
Abstract
THIS MEMORANDUM EXAMINES SOME LEGAL ASPECTS OF CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES IN NEBRASKA, EMPHASIZING CURRENT STATUTORY PROVISIONS GOVERNING CORRECTIONS. TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE SENTENCING ALTERNATIVES, VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE COUNTY JAIL, PROBATION, PAROLE, PARDONS, AND JUVENILE OFFENDERS. THE STUDY ALSO SUMMARIZES STATUTORY MATTER RELATING TO GOOD TIME, PRE-TRIAL RELEASE, WORK RELEASE AND POST CONVICTION RIGHT TO COUNSEL.
