Abstract
In this article from NIJ's "Notes from the Field" series, which allows leading voices in the field to share their strategies for responding to the most pressing issues on America's streets today, Michael W. Weissberg, an administrative officer at the Miccosukee Police Department (Florida) and an NIJ LEADS scholar, presents the benefits of private- and publicly-funded grants. Mr. Weissberg details the grant application process and shares tips on how to identify solicitations, engage colleagues and the community, and submit grant applications.
