COMPLETED SIX-MONTH ASSESSMENT OF DRUG ABUSE COORDINATION PROJECTS.
Abstract
THE OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUSTER EVALUATIONS WERE TO EXAMINE THE IMPACT OF SIMILAR PROJECTS ON CRIME REDUCTION AND TO ASSESS THE QUALITY OF THE EVALUATION COMPONENTS OF EACH PROJECT. THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE EVALUATION METHODOLOGY USED, INCLUDING AN EXPLANATION OF THE METHODOLOGY DEVELOPMENT. THE TWO MAJOR STUDY TASKS ARE ALSO DEFINED. TASK ONE WAS THE DEFINITION OF THE COORDINATION PROCESS. TASK TWO COVERED THE DEGREE OF OBJECTIVE ACHIEVEMENT. THE STUDY RESULTS FOR ALAMEDA, CONTRA COSTA, AND SANTA CLARA COUNTIES ARE DISCUSSED INDIVIDUALLY. TASK ONE SUBJECTIVE INTERVIEW DATA IS PRESENTED AND ANALYZED TO DESCRIBE THE ROLE OF THE DRUG ABUSE COORDINATOR AND COORDINATION PROBLEMS AND NEEDS. THE TASK TWO PRESENTATION DISCUSSES THE AVAILABILITY AND UTILIZATION OF THE INFORMATION NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES AND SUMMARIZES THE MAJOR PROBLEM AREAS.
