Introduction

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) awards Federal grant funds to recipients and subrecipients for specific purposes and requires them to use the funds within established guidelines. Unfortunately, some recipients and subrecipients have misused award funds in multiple ways ranging from award mismanagement to intentional criminal fraud. With this chapter, we aim to help you avoid misuse of award funds and the resulting penalties.
