Helping Youth Navigate Dangers in the Digital Age

OJJDP will host "Helping Youth Navigate Dangers in the Digital Age" as part of OJJDP’s Preventing Youth Hate Crimes & Identity-Based Bullying Initiative webinar series.

During the webinar, intended for school communities, presenters will:

  • Help participants understand how to identify and differentiate between misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation.
  • Teach participants how to help youth mitigate what they see on the internet and build resiliency against extremist hate groups.
  • Demonstrate various tools and resources to help youth identify misinformation.
  • Explain how to identify information on hate group recruitment reported by major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, TikTok) and how to empower caregivers to identify and report potential hate groups and hate crimes.
