The Impact of Body-Worn Cameras in Correctional Facilities

During this webinar, Dr. Bryce Peterson and Dr. Brittany Cunningham present results from a randomized controlled study on the implementation of body-worn cameras (BWCs) in the Loudoun County (Virginia) Adult Detention Center. 

The presenters will focus on the impact of BWCs on jail deputy perceptions, response-to-resistance (RTR), and resident injuries. Comparison of footage of RTR incidents from BWCs and stationary cameras will also be shared. The webinar will also feature panelists from several different correctional agencies speaking on barriers to and success with adoption and implementation of BWCs related to policy, safety, evidentiary value, impact, and oversight.
