Victims of crime interact with various service providers in the aftermath of their crime. While victim service providers — whether advocates or attorneys — are often trained in being trauma informed, each of us can use a refresher and the allied professionals with whom we collaboratively serve our victim-clients can often use the basics of this training.

Ensuring every person with whom a victim works is trauma-informed is critical to empowering victims and improving outcomes.

This training will discuss how to ensure our communications with victims are trauma-informed so that regardless of our role we can reduce revictimization and promote healing, and how we can collaborate as partners as we craft a trauma informed coordinated community response.
