This issue of AMBER Advocate is the second publication of 2023, and it spotlights the recent National AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program/AMBER Alert in Indian Country Symposium for law enforcement professionals, held in Tucson, Arizona. The issue features symposium participants’ insights into a variety topics that were explored at the event, including best practices for investigating endangered missing and abducted children, especially those from Tribal lands and children of color; essential and emerging technologies; and the need for more and better wellness care. The issue also describes how a Florida sheriff's department enlisted the local community, and a novel tracking app, in their successful search for a 2-year-old. Finally, the issue spotlights a West Virginia State Police First Sergeant, James Kozik, who utilizes technology to find missing children and to fight child exploitation/crimes against children.
