This compendium of initiatives sponsored by the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) related to sex offender management has been developed by the Center for Sex Offender Management to encourage and promote cooperation between the many agencies providing assistance to the field.
Abstract
The compendium is organized in subsections that are topically based. Each subsection reflects the variety of projects sponsored by the OJP and other Federal agencies. The initial subsections cover adult classification research, community notification research, evaluation of supervision and treatment research, juvenile sex offender research, national surveys, and risk assessment research. Subsequent subsections deal with community notification and registration, polygraphs, supervision and treatment programs, and training and technical assistance for policymakers and practitioners. Information provided on each initiative included in the subsections includes project title, funding agency, awardee, award amount, time period, research questions, project description, final product, anticipated impact on field practices, funding agency contact, and awardee contact.
