The first section of the manual summarizes the operational characteristics of 17 drug court programs throughout the Nation as of June 1994. The following information is provided on each program: impact to date, cases eligible, special features, arrest to treatment program entry, treatment provider, treatment program duration, treatment program elements, contact with the court, acupuncture, other support services, urinalysis procedures, the result of treatment program completion, and funding sources. For the same 17 programs, the second section of the manual provides comparative information on urinalysis costs and procedures. Part III contains a listing of sample operational materials by category maintained in the Drug Court Clearinghouse Reference Collection. Part IV has sample operational materials developed by drug court programs. These include program descriptions, court pleadings, orders, and rules relevant to drug case program operations; program procedures; participant information; participant contracts/agreements; and certificates of participant completion of treatment programs. Also included are forms relating to internal case intake, management, monitoring, and release of information, as well as management information, data collection materials, and sample computer screens.
