The focus is on biological, physiological, psychological, sociological, and environmental factors. To provide interdisciplinary researchers with an additional means to organize references in more detail, the Center developed a bibliographic information code sheet that permits the systematic, computerized classification of references on such factors as sample selection and characteristics, research design, test instruments and methodology, and major findings and conclusions. Special efforts were made to address those problems frequently encountered in interdisciplinary research, such as differences in terminology and orientation. It is intended that the format will facilitate links across disciplines and thus promote comprehensive approaches to research, medical diagnosis, and policy development. The format is appended. 6 references. (Author abstract modified)
