The U.S. Justice Department's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) presents its Annual Report for fiscal year (FY) 2020 (October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2020), which describes activities performed in that year to prevent and respond to juvenile delinquency and child victimization.

Abstract

The OJJDP operates under a statutory mandate to support state, local, and tribal efforts to prevent delinquency, address youth victimization, and strengthen the juvenile justice system nationwide. The report describes OJJDP's programs and activities during fiscal year (FY) 2020. OJJDP awarded approximately $370 million in FY 2020 to advance state, local, and tribal efforts to address juvenile delinquency and victimization, ensure offender accountability, and enhance public safety. In FY 2020, the Office supported efforts to address the opioid epidemic and drug use, youth mentoring, tribal youth, missing and exploited children, and a range of other issues through a diverse portfolio of programs and resources.
