Abstract

The acronym of the Oklahoma PDMP is OK PDMP. It is administered by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics. The email address is provided, along with the URLs for the main website and related websites for enrollment and query. Contact information is provided for the PMP Administrator. For 2020, the state population was 3,963,516, and there were 19,052 DEA-registered prescribers and 914 DEA-registered dispensers. A total of 27 types of reports are listed as being available from the PDMP. Funding sources for 2021 are the state general fund, controlled substance registration fees, and a CDC grant. The budget amount for 2021 is not provided. There are eight PDMP staff members performing operational, technical, and analytical/epidemiological responsibilities. Key dates are provided for the establishment and development of the PDMP. Information is provided for accessing statutes and rules regarding the mission and procedures of the PDMP. Seventeen capabilities and policies are listed for the PDMP. The data retention policy is to have 3 years of data kept online, with older data archived indefinitely. Training in the features and uses of the PDMP are available for prescribers, dispensers, law enforcement personnel, the Regulatory Board, and the Attorney General; however, training is not required before PDMP use. Information is provided on prescriber account criteria, dispenser account criteria, Regulatory Board account criteria, and law enforcement account criteria. Law enforcement access to PDMP patient data requires that there be an active investigation. Criteria to query PDMP are reported. Use of the PDMP is required for prescribers but not dispensers, and there is no required enrollment in PDMP for either prescribers or dispensers. Veterinarians can  access an animal owner’s prescription history.
