This paper reports on a first-principle approach to testing radio frequency identification devices (RFID), which have not been methodically tested for forensic use, either in the field or in the laboratory.
The system yielded higher variance results than anticipated, from 0% read accuracy in some situations and nearly 100% in others. Research like this can demonstrate gaps in technology and application for forensic use. (Published abstract provided)
