This report presents statistical tables from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics report on State Court Sentencing of Convicted Felons for 2000.
Abstract
Statistical tables from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Statistics' State Court Sentencing of Convicted Felons, 2000 report, highlight findings in the areas of, felony sentences in State courts, profile of felons convicted in State courts, felons sentenced to probation in State courts, and felony case processing in State courts. Findings were gathered from the 2000 "National Judicial Reporting Program" (NJRP) sample which consisted of 429,471 persons convicted of a felony in State courts in 344 counties and selected to be nationally representative. Of these convicted felons, 272,889 cases were in the 75 largest counties. The survey targeted and recorded initial sentences imposed in 2000, and recorded sentences that were actually executed.
