Abstract
"Arlington Restaurant Initiative Partners Work Together for Safety" describes how police and restaurant owners in Arlington County, Virginia, have developed an accreditation system which coordinates training that includes fake identification detection and deterrence, conflict de-escalation, and how to handle various situations that involve crimes or problem behaviors. "Tip Line Blueprint Offers Help to Schools" summarizes and provides online access to a publication that provides guidance in developing a tip line for school students and staff, parents, and community residents to have a safe, anonymous, or confidential means of providing information related to school security concerns. "Syracuse University Team Uses Input From the Field To Develop New Technology" summarizes and provides online access to a report that describes the methodology and results of efforts to use machine learning as a method of DNA mixture interpretation that operates on standard computers and provides an estimate of individual contributors to a DNA sample at a 98-percent accuracy rate in a few seconds. "Sexual Assault Response Team Toolkit" summarizes and provides online access to a toolkit that guides the development and management of a sexual assault response team (SART), which is a multidisciplinary, interagency team that promotes collaboration in supporting victims of sexual assault and holding offenders accountable. Another feature article describes the development and validation of a resilience training model for police officers in managing work-related stress.
