This report presents the result from testing mobile device data acquisition tool, WinMoFo, version 2.238791, a computer forensic tool.
Abstract
Results of the test indicate that except for six test cases, the WinMoFo, version 2.238791 acquired all supported data objects completely and accurately from the selected test mobile devices (i.e., HTC Tilt2, HTC Touch Pro 2). The Computer Forensics Tool Testing (CFTT) program provides measurable assurance to practitioners, researchers, and other users that the tools used in computer forensics investigations provide accurate results. To accomplish this requires the development of specifications and test methods for computer forensics tools, with subsequent testing of specific tools against those specifications. This report presents the results from testing WinMoFo, version 2.2.38791 against the Smart Phone Tool Test Assertions and Test Plan. The report is divided into five sections. The first section is a summary of the results from the test runs. The remaining sections describe how the tests were conducted and provide documentation of test case run details that support the report summary. Tables
