This document presents the curriculum guidelines, developed by California law enforcement trainers and criminal justice educators in cooperation with the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, for use in training police officers in the use of firearms and tear gas.
Abstract
Individual sections present information regarding handling handguns, handling shotguns, the parts of revolvers and semiautomatic handguns, the care and storage of handguns, and parts of shotguns. Additional sections focus on handgun and shotgun marksmanship, shooting positions, use of firearms in daytime and nighttime, gas mask techniques, and the use of and handling of exposure to chemical agents such as tear gas and oleoresin capsicum.
