Abstract
The curriculum's goal is to help students recognize when property crimes have occurred, identify property crimes by their common names, and classify property crimes as either misdemeanors or felonies. It covers the following topics: petty and grand theft, defrauding innkeepers, lost property appropriation, embezzlement, forgery, trespassing, burglary, serial number alteration, receiving stolen property, vandalism, cruelty to animals, arson, firebomb possession, vehicle theft and joyriding, and writing fraudulent checks. Each topic is accompanied by definitions, discussion points, performance objectives, and supporting materials. 11 references
