This resource guide provides a strategy for communities to follow to implement the goals of the Greenbook, a publication that explores the relationships between domestic violence and child abuse and neglect and promotes solutions to this issue.
Abstract
The Greenbook is a publication released in 1999 by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges that explores the links between domestic violence and child abuse and offers guidelines for policy and practice. In 2001, the Federal Government provided funding to six communities to establish guidelines for implementing the goals of the Greenbook. This resource guide is organized into eight sections and looks at a number of the major policy and practice issues encountered by the communities that implemented the policies of the Greenbook. It provides details on the various ways that communities addressed these issues and includes actual protocols, tools, and exercises that were successfully used by the communities. The resource guide is not intended to be a how-to-guide or a step-by-step discussion for implementation of the Greenbook's goals, but rather as a tool for communities to use to develop their own process for achieving success.
