TRENDS IN REHABILITATION SERVICES, THE CLOSING OF INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES, NEW PROGRAMS, PAROLE REVOCATION DECLINE, USE OF VOLUNTEERS, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE REVIEWED. COMMUNITY SERVICES AND RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. STATISTICS ARE INCLUDED ON SUCH FACTORS AS RATE OF FIRST COMMITMENT, REDUCTIONS IN COMMITMENT, AGE, SEX, ETHNIC GROUP, OFFENSE, PRIOR RECORD, ACHIEVEMENT TEST SCORES, AVERAGE DAILY POPULATION, PAROLE POPULATION MOVEMENT, PAROLE VIOLATIONS, PAROLE PERFORMANCE AND LONG TERM TRENDS.
