A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK OF THE REGIONAL POLICE LEGAL ADVISOR FOR THE TOWNS OF BERLIN, BRISTOL, NEW BRITAIN, PLAINVILLE, PLYMOUTH, AND SOUTHINGTON (CT).
Abstract
ORIGINALLY PLANNED AS A COUNSELING AND ADVISORY SERVICE FOR PARTICIPATING DEPARTMENTS, WITH AN IN-SERVICE TRAINING FUNCTION AS WELL, IT SOON BECAME APPARENT THAT THOSE GOALS WERE IMPRACTICAL. THE OFFICE STARTED TO ISSUE A BULLETIN ON CONNECTICUT, FEDERAL, AND U.S. SUPREME COURT DECISIONS AFFECTING POLICE WORK. THESE BULLETINS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH TIMELY MEMORANDA ON SUBJECTS OF INTEREST TO LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL, HAVE BEEN WELL RECEIVED.
