THIS DOCUMENT PRESENTS THE RATIONALE FOR AND DESCRIPTION OF THE FRONT END PROCESSOR MODULE, DEVELOPED UNDER THE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (IMIS) PROJECT FOR THE CHARLOTTE (NC) POLICE DEPARTMENT.
Abstract
FRONT END PROCESSING HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE WERE ACQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE SPECIAL HANDLING REQUIREMENTS OF POLICE DEPARTMENT INFORMATION, WHICH REQUIRES SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS CONCERNING SECURITY, INTERFACES WITH OTHER SYSTEMS, AND RESPONSE TIME TO TRANSACTIONS ENTERED BY POLICE DEPARTMENT DISPATCHERS WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH THE PROCESSING REQUIREMENTS OF THE OTHER MODULES. THIS DOCUMENT PRESENTS THE SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE MODULE.
