This volume presents the text of all the standards, guidelines, conventions, and model treaties developed by the United Nations in the area of crime prevention and criminal justice.
Abstract
The standards include general declarations and principles; statements regarding international cooperation; and standards related to the treatment of offenders, the judiciary, law enforcement, juvenile justice, victim services, capital punishment, protection against torture and other degrading treatment, and human rights. Specific topics covered include crime prevention, organized crime prevention and control, terrorism, extradition, prisoners' rights, professional conduct and ethics for law enforcement, juvenile delinquency prevention, the rights of death row inmates, detention, and the rights of minors.
