During the reporting period, 396 cases involving 424 offenders were reported to the Sex Crimes Unit of the Connecticut State Police.
Abstract
The information contained in each case, whether solved or unsolved, was searched against the existing sex crimes file in an effort to provide investigative information to law enforcement agencies. Such information was provided by the Unit in 76 cases during the year. A total of 653 assaults were reported in 1981, compared to 647 in 1980. In the 396 cases reported to the Unit, the youngest victim was 3 years old, and the oldest victim was aged 85. The youngest offender was age 13, and the oldest offender was 64 years old.
