A STUDY OF THE FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, ORGANIZATION, OPERATIONS, AND PROCEDURES OF THE SHERIDAN AND SHERIDAN COUNTY (WY) LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES: THE FEASIBILITY OF MERGING CERTAIN OF THEIR SERVICES IS ALSO DISCUSSED.
Abstract
ALTHOUGH ALL SERVICES WERE EXAMINED, BECAUSE OF TIME CONSTRAINTS ONLY BASIC AUXILIARY SERVICES WERE GIVEN SERIOUS CONSIDERATION. THESE INCLUDE COMMUNICATIONS, RECORDKEEPING, JAIL AND BOOKING OPERATIONS AND GENERAL FACILITIES. THE FINDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE INDICATE THAT THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT SHOULD BE CONSOLIDATED. A DISCUSSION OF ENABLING MECHANISMS IS INCLUDED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
