This report presents narrative and statistics on all aspects of correctional services for each Canadian jurisdiction. The fiscal years 1978/79, 1979/80, and 1980/81 are covered.
Abstract
Separate chapters describe correctional services in the Federal sector and in each of the Provinces/Territories. For each jurisdiction, a set of summary facts is presented that can be considered broad indicators for that jurisdiction. Operational, caseload, population, and escape/death data are given for government and private corrections facilities, and similar information is supplied on probation/parole services. Other information includes correctional expenditures by type of service, a display of major capital projects, and a listing of funded agencies and corresponding amounts of contributions or grants. A glossary, maps, and organizational charts are supplied.
