Abstract
The data cover crime trends, total crime index offenses, crime in Chicago and in downstate Illinois, offense and clearance data, and adult and juvenile arrests. Information is also presented for specific police departments, sheriffs' offices, colleges and universities, countries, the State police, hospitals, railroads, park districts, airports, and other agencies. Data are also given for metropolitan statistical areas. Additional sections explain the reporting system, offense codes, police employment, police deaths, and assaults on police during the year.
