This guide assists the instructor in the development of an appropriate lesson plan that will achieve the performance objectives for the basic police course in crimes against property.
Abstract
This unit is part of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Course Guidelines system developed by California law enforcement trainers and criminal justice educators for the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. The guide presents the learning goals, performance objectives, a list of instructional materials and equipment, and unit outlines for a course on property-crime law. The learning goals are to give students an understanding and working knowledge of various property offenses as defined in the various California Code Sections. The laws covered pertain to theft, embezzlement, forgery/fraud, burglary, the receipt of stolen property, malicious mischief (vandalism), and arson. Each of the unit outlines indicates the content to be covered by the instructor. Supplementary material and 11 references
