Abstract
Intended to enhance the interrogation skills of police officers, the volume covers interrogation and the 4th and 5th amendments, custody and the Miranda warning, the differentiation of various responses from suspects, and ways of asking clarifying questions. The volume also contains chapters on waiver, interrogation and the 6th and 14th amendments, interrogation strategies, suspect evaluation, psychological ploys to eliminate a suspect's defenses, motivating factors in obtaining a truthful confession, and technical tips on taping confessions and taking written statements.
