Abstract
AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS CAN ADD VARIETY TO ANY TRAINING PROGRAM, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEY MAKE POSSIBLE A WIDER RANGE OF EXPERIENCE AND INFORMATION THAN THE USUAL LECTURE PRESENTATION AFFORDS. THIS EDITION OF THE LEAA AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS DIRECTORY IS AN INITIAL EFFORT TO COLLECT, AND MAKE AVAILABLE, INFORMATION ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE AUDIO VISUAL MEDIA MATERIALS IN A SINGLE VOLUME. THE DIRECTORY CONTAINS MATERIALS PRODUCED BY BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC AGENCIES AND IS DIVIDED INTO SECTIONS COVERING PREVENTION, POLICE TECHNIQUES AND TRAINING, COURTS, PRISONS AND REHABILITATION/CORRECTIONS, PUBLIC EDUCATION, MISCELLANEOUS AND PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION SOURCES. EACH SECTION LISTS THE TITLES OF THE AUDIO VISUAL MATERIALS WITH A BRIEF NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF THEIR CONTENTS. ALSO PROVIDED IS INFORMATION CONCERNING THE TYPE OF MATERIAL, WHETHER COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE, RUNNING TIME, PURCHASE OR RENTAL FEES AND THE PRODUCING FIRM OR AGENCY. AN ADDRESS LIST OF THESE AGENCIES IS CONTAINED IN THE CONCLUDING SECTION OF THE DIRECTORY. (SNI ABSTRACT)
