          Abstract
These areas are (1) career criminals and criminal careers, (2) sentencing alternatives, (3) chronic youthful offenders, (4) evaluating and improving system management, (5) results of innovative programs, and (6) responses to adolescent drug abuse and organized crime. Rand uses a multidisciplinary approach to its research, regularly teaming criminologists, economists, sociologists, psychologists, operations researchers, statisticians, and computer scientists on its research projects.
