A PROPOSAL FOR A COMPUTERIZED BETTING SYSTEM ENABLING PLAYERS TO MAKE WINDOW AND TELEPHONE BETS FOR NEW YORK STATE TRACKS AND OUT-OF-STATE TRACKS.
Abstract
THE PLAN INCLUDES 100 BETTING LOCATIONS EXPANDABLE TO 200 WITH 1000 BETTING WINDOWS CAPABLE OF RECEIVING ONE MILLION BETS A DAY. TELEPHONE BETTING STATIONS ARE NUMBERED AT 150, EACH WITH MAGNETIC TAPE RECORDINGS OF VOICE CONVERSATIONS. TICKET SELLING MACHINES ARE TO BE LOCATED AT BETTING WINDOWS AND WILL BE CAPABLE OF ENTERING DATA ON ANY ALLOWED BET. THE SYSTEM WILL INCLUDE ERROR CONTROL AND EXTENSIVE VALIDATION LOGGING AND ACCOUNTING CHECKS. PAY-OUT WILL BE BY WAY OF WINDOW MACHINE OR BRANCH OFFICE FACILITY. PAID TICKETS WILL BE RETAINED FOR AUDIT.
