This toolkit for domestic violence programs, sexual assault programs, and victim service agencies that support survivors focuses on "digital services" to crime victims, which refer to tech-based tools for assisting these crime victims, including online chat, text messaging, and video calls.
Abstract
Online access is provided to toolkit resources that enable these victim service organizations to assess their readiness for providing digital services, choose the technology they will use, follow best practices in providing various digital services, and access past resources of interest. For "assessing readiness," online access is provided to a guide and a formatted worksheet. For "choosing technology,"online resources address choosing a platform, choosing a vendor, and a worksheet for selecting a vendor. Toolkit online resources for "best practices" include principles for digital services, texting, chat, video calls, terms of service, and assistance technology. Online resources for "past resources of interest" cover email, phone calls (voice calls), website safety, social media policies, cell phone security, and mobile device security.
