Abstract
This report from the District of Columbia Courts describes the numerous achievements and accomplishments made by the courts during 2009, the second year of implementation of the courts' 5-year strategic plan entitled Delivering Justice: Strategic Plan of the District of Columbia Courts, 2008-2012. The 5-year strategic plan includes goals and objectives in the following six strategic areas: fair and timely case resolution, a strong judiciary, a strong workforce, a sound infrastructure, public trust in the courts, and confidence in the courts. Tables include data on caseload activity in 2009 in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the District of Columbia Superior Court. Brief summaries are also presented on the services available to District residents to ensure access to the courts, the work and accomplishments of the judiciary, the changes made to the courts' infrastructure, the changes made to improve security and disaster preparedness, and the work done to improve public trust and confidence in the courts. A list of members of the District of Columbia Courts is also presented.
