This resource guide provides an overview of some U.S. federal entities as well as international organizations that work with drug surveillance systems.

Abstract

This review presents a detailed listing of resources for initiatives relating to drug surveillance systems, which are organized into two categories: federal and international entities. The document considers the various funding agencies and types of surveillance at play, providing users of surveillance system data with a resource for improving their understanding of data usage, interpretation, limitations, and analysis. Federal resources include: the Department of Justice; Office of National Drug Control Policy; Department of Homeland Security; Department of Health and Human Services; National Institute on Drug Abuse; and National Institutes of Health. International resources include: European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction; and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
