REPORT OF A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROJECT UNDERTAKEN FOR THE MUNICIPAL COURT OF ELIZABETH, NEW JERSEY, TO DETERMINE THE COURT'S RECORD STORAGE NEEDS AND IF A PROPOSED NEW AUTOMATED FILING SYSTEM WERE FEASIBLE.
Abstract
THIS REVIEW HAD TWO PURPOSES: TO REVIEW THE MANUAL FILING SYSTEM CURRENTLY USED BY THE COURT, PARTICULARLY THAT PART OF THE SYSTEM PERTAINING TO TRAFFIC CASES; AND TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVING THE SYSTEM AND, SPECIFICALLY, THE ADVISABILITY OF ADOPTING THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM BEING CONSIDERED. PROCEDURES GOVERNING ISSUANCE, PROCESSING, AND FILING OF TRAFFIC TICKETS WAS ANALYZED. ALSO INSPECTED WERE THE FACILITIES FOR SPACE FOR EQUIPMENT. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE ACQUISITION OF FILING EQUIPMENT TO ALLEVIATE THE PRESENT RECORD STORAGE PROBLEM WILL PROVIDE THE COURT WITH A SHORT-TERM SOLUTION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
